Effective Mediation

In order for a mediation to be effective, the parties need a mediator who will do more than carry offers back and forth. Nick is willing to actually engage with the parties and help them understand the issues that need to be addressed to reach a resolution of the case.

Availability

In order for a mediator to resolve cases, they need to be available. As a litigator, Nick hated delaying a mediation for months because the mediator was booked. When the parties are in the frame of mind to negotiate and schedule a mediation, it's best to schedule it as early as possible. Nick limits the amount of cases that he accepts to ensure that there are always blocks of available time on his calendar. Mayle Mediation is usually always able to schedule your mediation within a 30 days timeframe and oftentimes much sooner.

Reasonable Price

As a litigator, Nick hated sticker shock when he received the mediation bill. Nick believes that mediation should be reasonably priced to allow all cases to have a chance at resolution, especially smaller cases. Nick’s hourly rate of $195 equally split between the parties is reasonably priced to allow all parties an opportunity to resolve their case without the fear of running up a massive bill.

Willing to Stay Involved

As a litigator, Nick learned that just because a case does not settle at mediation, does not mean that it will not settle. Oftentimes, mediation is just the start of negotiations for the parties and additional time and work can be needed to push the matter across the goal line. Nick is willing to stay involved in the case even after the formal mediation session has ended. Mayle Mediation is willing to schedule follow-up mediations or even just maintain an informal dialogue with the parties to keep the lines of communication open.
